There’s a very specific type of game that tricks you into losing track of time.
Not because it has stunning graphics or a huge story mode. Not because it’s complicated. Actually, it’s usually the opposite. The game looks simple enough that you think:
“Oh, I’ll just try this for a couple minutes.”
And then suddenly you’re sitting there an hour later, emotionally recovering because a giant floating circle named “cheese king” swallowed you whole.
That was my introduction to agario.
At first, I honestly didn’t expect much. The visuals are minimal, the controls are ridiculously easy, and the concept sounds almost too basic to work. You control a tiny blob, eat pellets to grow bigger, and avoid players who are larger than you.
That’s it.
But somehow, that tiny gameplay loop becomes wildly intense after just a few rounds.
